During the period of research the Ilongots numbered at most 3500 people. They resided in dispersed clusters of about 10 houses that provided shelter for about 65 people. Marriage was monogamous with a low divorce rate and post-marital residence was uxorilocal by household. Subsistence was mixed between foraging and dry ice horticulture; and wild pigs while the women carried out most of the continuous labor in their gardens of rice, root crops, sugar cane, tobacco, bananas, corn, and vegetables. Until 1972 headhunting remained a central cultural practice for many Ilongots." -- pages 10-11 ER -
